Who We Are

France is home to a vibrant community of over 400 Princeton University graduates. For over 30 years, the Princeton Alumni Association of France has provided opportunities for Tigers to connect with one another and with the University through social events and volunteer opportunities, upholding Princeton’s tradition of alumni involvement, across the Atlantic.

Connect with Other Alumni

Discover the thriving network of undergraduate and graduate alumni in France by attending one of PAAF’s social and cultural gatherings. Events range from alumni talks to performances from Princeton student groups to Happy Hours at local restaurants. PAAF also held a reception welcoming President Eisgruber to France.

One initiative we are especially excited about is the Alumni Speaker Series. Rather than relying on visits from campus professors, we decided to tap the rich pool of alumni luminaries in France. Sessions have included a presentation from Aimée Lahaussois on her linguistics fieldwork in Nepal, and a lecture from Dr. Costas Bachas on his research on the God Particle.

We also regularly partner with other alumni clubs in Paris. For example, we were delighted to join the Harvard Club for the talk of dual Princeton-Harvard alumna, Ambassador Nix-Hines of UNESCO.

For information about upcoming events, visit the PAAF Facebook Page. Events will also be announced by mail through TigerNet. If you wish to receive mail updates, please ensure that your contact information is up to date in the Tigernet database, and that your country of residence is listed as France.

Interview Future Tigers

One of the most valuable ways that alumni in France promote Princeton is by interviewing prospective students. The Alumni Schools Committee is headed by Victoria Cadiz, who is always eager to welcome new volunteers. Interviews may be conducted face-to-face, over Skype or by phone. For more information, please reach out to Victoria Cadiz at vcadiz@alumni.princeton.edu. The interviewing season begins annually in November.

The Youth Ambassadors Program

The Princeton Alumni Association of France has partnered with United States Embassy to empower young French men and women to develop their interests in community service and intercultural dialogue. The program sends French students to the United States for two weeks, and provides continuing education and lectures in Paris. Several PAAF members are already actively involved in the program, advising participants on how to navigate specific professional paths. If you would like to volunteer in the program, please contact Elyse Michaels Berger at emich@alumni.princeton.edu.

Tiger Impact

As members of the Princeton community, we abide by Princeton's informal motto "Princeton in the Nation's Service and the Service of Humanity" and welcome all initiatives that will allow us to join together in service of the public good.
